Lexus To Launch M5-Rivalling GS-F

Lexus GS f at Lexus To Launch M5 Rivalling GS F

Lexus is planning on a new high-performance version of the GS saloon. A car so mean and so fast it’ll shake off the “vanilla” image associated with the brand for good.

In fact the car is said to offer BMW M5-rivalling performance, which is a big claim, but then Lexus has proved with the LFA they know a thing or two about properly fast cars.

According to Autocar’s report the GS-F will be powered by a detuned version of LFA’s V10 engine with around 450 bhp. That is more than a 100 less than the new BMW M5, so yes, we too are a bit skeptical about the M5-rivalling performance. Still the car can be as dynamic as the M5, what with all the new technologies crammed into the GS’ chassis.

Lexus is so serious about altering its brand image that they are not even offering a diesel version of the GS. What they say basically is the hybrid GS will take care of the green business, let’s focus on making sportier versions of it. We like that!
