Cadillac To Showcase 4G-Enabled OnStar at CES

Cadillac and GM’s media partner OnStar will showcase the latest in-vehicle infotainment systems at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas early next year.

Cadillac will be boasting the CUE system and its industry-first controls and commands for information and entertainment data, and OnStar the 4G LTE cloud connected vehicle space, reveal future expansions in the mobile application arena, and make announcements about  OnStar FMV, its aftermarket rearview mirror that contains all of OnStar’s key functions for older vehicles.

OnStar will be using a Chevrolet Volt research vehicle to showcase its 4G LTE network developed by Verizon offering Cloud-based streaming of entertainment and information content throughout the vehicle, rear seat infotainment management and video chat. Impressive stuff.

Additionally, OnStar has built on its pioneering work with smart grid technology and home connectivity to develop in-vehicle applications centered on energy management:
