Chrysler hopes to give UK’s favorite SUV Range Rover Sport a bloody nose with its high performance Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.

This monster might not look very sophisticated, you can even call it ugly, but it has a weapons-grade 6424cc HEMI V8 with Fuel Saver Technology that delivers 470 hp and 465 lb ft. of torque. It has an astonishing 0 to 60mph time of just 4.8 seconds.

Cherokee SRT 8 is also a feature-rich car, fitted as standard with active head restraints, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and rain brake support. The car pulls up from 60 mph in just 116 feet.

As for the pricing, it’s £58,995 OTR. Pretty tempting eh!

Along with the SRT8, Jeep also launches the Chrokee Overland Summit model. Available in a new, exclusive Rugged Brown paint scheme, with a unique fully chromed grille and fog lamp bezels, and riding on 20-inch bright, polished aluminium wheels, the Overland Summit takes all the features of the current top-of-the-range Overland.

The Grand Cherokee Overland Summit boasts a black lower and saddle upper interior trim colour, along with saddle-coloured Nappa heated and ventilated leather seats – with perforated inserts, accent piping and unique stitching – and Berber floor mats with black and chestnut accent binding.

Engine-wise it has a 237 hp, 2987cc V6 CRD diesel engine, perfect for eco-minded drivers. This one is priced at £44,795.
