Following its European debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Toyota announced how much you have to pay to buy the GT 86 in the green continent. The idea behind the 86 concept is to offer a no-fuss, affordable sports car. The 86 is certainly a no-fuss, no-nonsense car, but prices for the 86 start from 29,990 euros. Can you call that affordable?
30,000 euros is not that big of a price, but considering what you get in return it may sound a bit steep. The 86 iss a two-seater car with a four-cylinder boxer engine developing only 200 hp. So it’s a bit down on power, not very pretty, and not very practical with only 243 liters of cargo space.
On the upside, it’s a fantastic driver’s car. That boxer engine brings the center of the gravity low, and that combined with the rear-drive chassis, sport suspension and manual gearbox, provides an unforgettable experience. If only it had a few more horses it’d be such a great sports car, and worth the pay!
The car is also very well-equipped. Some of the standard kit on the European 86 include keyless entry and starting system Smart key, Toyota Touch infotainment, dual-zone air con, 17-inch wheels, ESP, VSC, and seven airbags. Options include leather and Alcantara heated seats, parking assist, and navigation.
