McLaren Working on Ferrari FF Rival

McLaren was not quite successful in beating Ferrari 458 with their MP4-12C supercar. So, apparently, they’re shifting focus to another Maranello product, the Ferrari FF. British magazine AutoExpress has learned that McLaren engineers are working on a top-secret shooting brake estate based on the MP4, which is both cheaper and more practical than the FF.

Being based on the MP4 means the shooting brake car also gets the same 592bhp 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, and that means it will be as fast – if not faster – than the Ferrari. And as for the looks, well, what you see here is AE’s speculation rendered out of a MP4 picture. McLaren MP4-12C’s looks might not be a match for the divine Ferrari 458, but it is certainly more attractive than the FF.

There’s no info on whether or not the McLaren gets four-wheel-drive as well, but it probably will.
