Opel Mokka – the European version of Buick Encore, named after Mochachino coffee – gets a new optional extra. It’s a new version of Opel’s FlexFix bicycle carrier which can now carry up to three bikes. The carrier is attached to the rear bumper, but it comes with a tilt function that allows access to tailgate even when carrier is full. It’s a very handy tool for bikers.
The new FF can also take an extra 10 kg in weight (30 kg) compared to the first generation FlexFix system. Another new features is a clip-on adaptor so that a further two bicycles can be transported. The total load capacity with three bikes loaded is 60 kilograms.
it’s good to carry your bicycles wherever you go, but it’s a bit pricey. Pricing for the FlexFix starts from 590 euro, while the adaptor kit costs an extra 191 euro.
Opel Mokka will go on sale later this year with three available engines. The gasoline offer comprises an 85 kW/115 hp, 1.6 liter naturally-aspirated engine with 155 Nm as well as a 103 kW/140 hp 1.4 l Turbo with 200 Nm of torque. On the diesel side, there is a 93 kw/130 hp 1.7 CDTI turbo diesel with 300 Nm of torque. Default drivetrain is front-wheel drive (FWD), but the Mokka can be fitted with an all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
