Jay Leno’s Garage is the place for the world’s most amazing cars, and what you see in this episode is one of the best. It’s a 1948 Chrysler Town&Country Convertible Woody, except it isn’t really. The body – save a few details like the extended wings and 17-inch wheels – looks stock, but underneath it’s got modern engine, suspension and running gear. So you get the awesome styling of the classic car, but none of the mechanical drawbacks.
These Resto-Mod jobs are the best way to enjoy classic car motoring. Old cars look great, no doubt about that, but t live with they’re like cancer. With treatments like this though you can have your cake and eat it too.
This car belongs to Goodguys founder Gary Meadors who bought it unseen on ebay three years ago. The restoration and modernization is done by Scott Bonowski.
