One of the features of the new XTS sedan Cadillac is very proud of is the Reconfigurable Gauges that come with the Cadillac User Experience (CUE). It’s nothing new of course, you used to get that on Merc S-Class since five or sic years ago. Ford was the first brand to make it sort of mainstream by offering MyFord Touch system, and now it’s becoming a common feature in almost every new car. Question is, what’s it for?

Well, in this age of smartphone and android and stuff, people like to customize everything, not matter how irrelevant it might be. So this system allows you to customize your instrument gauges like you would your Windows desktop. You can choose what kind of information you want to be displayed in there. Thing is, it looks a lit a bit of a faff. Why would you want something to make life more complicated?

Check out a demo of Cadillac’s system. It won’t sit well with their traditional customer base, assuming they’re still alive!
