Ferrari Boss Named European Manager of the Year 2012

Ferrari Boss at Ferrari Boss Named European Manager of the Year 2012

Luca di Montezemolo, the dashing and charismatic boss of Ferrari has been named the “European Manager of the Year” for 2012 during the European Business Press Federation (EBP) annual meeting. Luca has been chosen for his extraordinary achievements in his 20 years as Ferrari chairman. In that time he transformed Ferrari into one of the world’s most famous and successful brands without compromising its core values.

Under Montezemolo’s leadership Ferrari completely renovated its range, returned the Formula 1 team to victory and obtained incredible commercial results that doubled revenues yet retained the brand’s signature exclusivity. He also expanded Ferrari’s business globally, with the brand now present in 60 countries worldwide. Mr Montezemolo was also praised for his work to improve the quality of life of workers at the Maranello facility. Ferrari’s factory is one of the best places to work in Europe, officially.

There has been some rumors of Luca di Montezemolo running for Italian presidency. We won’t be at all surprised if he eventually gets there. It would be sad if he left Ferrari, but he’s the man for the job of saving Italy from bankruptcy!

The EBP, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, is made up of 48 of Europe’s leading business newspapers and magazines from 27 nations. Its members include The Wall Street Journal Europe, Handelsblatt, Les Echos, and Milano Finanza amongst others.
