The previous version of the Hyundai i30 Wagon was for years offered in the U.S. market, where it’s known as the Elantra. Now as the new generation of the highly successful hatchback is going on sale in America, the Tourer is making its way to the European market. Production of the i30 Tourer begins today at the company’s plant in Nošovice, Czech Republic.
The i30 Tourer has offers all the good things that made the hatchback so successful, such as quality, value, stylish design, efficiency and t some extent driving enjoyment, in addition to a big boot which adds to its practicality.It offers a load capacity of 528-litres with the rear seats raised and 1,642-litres with them folded.
Production of the tourer begins as orders of the New Generation i30 are already approaching 60,000 units just a few months after coming to market. With that, and the rising demand for other compact Hyundais such as the ix35 crossover, the Korean car maker is confident of a remarkable boost in its European sales.
The New Generation i30 models are produced alongside ix35 and ix20 at Hyundai’s Czech plant in Nošovice, where around 900 additional employees were hired when a third shift started in September 2011.
