We have absolutely no idea why, but it seems Jaguar let its designer to destroy the clay models they’ve spent tons of money and time making  with axes, once they’re done with them. Tell you the truth, we don’t really care. It just looks really cool. We have a suspicion they do this to blow off some steam after months of hard work, let their hair down a bit. They could have put the clay models on display in a corner of the factory, but this is more fun!

Even in this day and age of computer aided design, Jaguar still uses clay models to bring the initial sketches to life. The full-size models let the designers make changes to the piece and also test its aerodynamics characteristics. On some occasions they might even paint a clay model and show it as a concept in a motor show.
