As some of you may remember a few weeks ago Ferrari test driver Marc Gene set an unofficial lap record around Laguna Seca, during a practice run at Ferrari Racing Days event. Now here have a video of the record-breaking lap in which Marc – who will be competing at this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours for Audi – popped in a 1:05.78, the fastest ever. He was driving a 2003 Ferrari Formula 1 racer that used to belong to Rubens Barrichello.

On a side note, Laguna Seca is such a magnificent track, especially the Corkscrew corner. Too bad they didn’t count Gene’s record as official.
