Black Edition Corsa at Vauxhall Corsa Black Edition Announced

The current Vauxhall Corsa looks way too cute and fluffy. And while that attracts girls to the car, it drives away male customers. To get around this problem Vauxhall announced launch of a new special edition Corsa in the UK called the Black Edition. The idea is by painting everything black, the Corsa would suddenly look mean and aggressive. It doesn’t. Maybe in VXR guise it would.

The Black Edition Corsa also adds a new engine to the range. It’s a 1.4 Turbo Start/Stop four-pot, developing 120PS and maximum torque of 175Nm. While this engine is very economical at 51.4mpg, it is deathly slow with a 0 to 60 mph time of 9.7 seconds and top speed of only 121 mph.

The Corsa Black is based on the Limited trim level, and gets new 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. It comes with a body kit too, consisting of body-coloured front lower spoiler, side sills, rear lower skirt and rear spoiler. The kit is complemented by tinted windows and smoked lights. Interior features include sports seats, a leather-covered steering wheel, sports pedals, silver interior seat stitching and matt chrome air vent surrounds.

Vauxhall Corsa Black Edition is limited 500 units, in both 3- and 5-door body styles, with prices starting from £15,995 for the 3-door and £16,425 for the 5-door model.
