The RTR is what drift champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. thinks a proper Mustang should be like. And no, it doesn’t have a live rear axle. Actually, the main feature of the RTR package is the professional suspension systems it offers. It is available as Spec 1 and Spec 2 packages, comes with a full body kit, and optional engine tuning program with either 525HP or 624HP Ford Racing supercharger.
We quite like Gittin’s vision of a perfect Mustang, even the way his car looks. The Mustang RTR gets an appearance package with a chin spoiler, sports grille, side skirts, RTR rocker splitters, and deck lid applique, as well as a rear diffuser. The RTR stripes are optional, but lowering and RTR axle back exhaust system are part of the package. Mind you, Spec 1 only gets some of these good stuff.
The Spec 2 is the fully-loaded RTR which comes with a full body kit, Ford Racing tune, Ford Racing adjustable shocks, 1.0 inch or 1.5 inch lowering springs, RTR 4-way adjustable front and rear sway bars, RTR adjustable panhard bar, RTR rear chassis brace, RTR axle back exhaust system. This is the one you want of course, as it gets the best suspension, which is also available as an upgrade to all 2010 to 2013 Mustangs.
As for the pricing, Spec 1 RTR can be obtained for $6,250, while the magnificent Spec 2 costs $11,995.
