We have lapped Spa Francorchamps a thousand times… in video games. So it’s quite amazing for us to see what a real lap of the legendary circuits look like from a driver’s point of view. Now thanks to Lucas di Grassi we don’t have to wonder no more. He posted a new video of him lapping Spa with a camera located on his helmet — in front of one of his eyes!

This shows us what exactly a driver sees as he’s going through the bends and chicanes of Spa. Some of them are quite scary, such as the uphill at the end of the main straight where you turn in flat out, or the La Source hairpin, where the deceleration can really hurt your internal organs.

A big thumbs up to Lucas for making video. It must have been quite hard driving with only one eye.
