Dutch magazine AutoWeek published the very first images of the new Aston Martin DB9 Coupe and Volante, caught in a parking lot in Mallorca, Spain. Now, one would struggle to tell this car apart from the new Vanquish, but the badge on the back clearly says ‘DB9’ so this must be it.

Actually, only the front looks like the Vanquish. The rear-end seems to be nicked straight from the Virage.

Obviously Aston designers were thinking on their feet here. Instead of coming up with something new, they decided to put whatever they’ve got into a blender and use the mix as the new model. That is, of course, fair enough, seeing as an all-new DB9 is on its way over and will emerge over the next few years. Consider this as something to keep things fresh until then.

The new DB9 models are expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Paris Motor Show this September.
