Turns out the new Aston Martin Vanquish is not the only hot super GT at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours, because Ferrari is bringing its F12 Berlinetta to the show. And while the Aston might win the beauty contest, the Fezza will eat it for breakfast when it comes to speed and performance. The 740-hp monster technically replaces the 599, but it’s faster than an Enzo.
Part of the reason why the F12 is so darn fast, is the 6.0 liter V12 under the bonnet. While Mercedes and BMW use turbos and stuff in their struggle to get 600 hp out of their V12s, Ferrari somehow managed to extract 740 hp and nearly 700 Nm of torque out of theirs without using any sort of forced induction.
That power in combination with the car’s dry weight of 1,525 kg gives it a blistering 0 to 60 mph time of 3.1 seconds, while flat out it’ll do over 210 mph. And yet, it’s got a boot you can actually use, and a spacious cabin full of leather and weather.
“With many of our most valued clients and avid fans joining for the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, this is the ideal moment for the North American premiere of the new F12berlinetta,” said Marco Mattiacci, President and Chief Executive Officer, Ferrari North America. “Both beautiful and breathtakingly fast, the F12berlinetta carries forward the traditions of the great Ferraris of today and yesteryear,”
