Official EPA ratings have been revealed for the new Ford C-MAX hybrid, and well, the car does 47 mpg everywhere. City, highway, and combined figures are all 47 mpg, which is interesting. It must have something to do with its sophisticated hybrid powertrain that adopts itself to city and highway driving, and even allows top speed of up to 62 mph in EV mode.
The highway economy of the C-MAX is better than its main rival, Toyota Prius v, by 7 mpg.
Some of the innovative fuel saving features the C-MAX Hybrid is blessed with, besides the hybrid system that powers it, include SmartGaugewith EcoGuide that coaches for top fuel efficiency by providing growing green leaves in the gauge cluster as a reward for economical driving; and ECO Cruise, a feature that helps optimize powertrain elements for convenient yet economical highway travel.
Priced from $25,995, the C-MAX hybrid also beats the Prius v in terms of value for money. The Toyota is $1,300 more expensive. The Ford also comes with 15 class-exclusive features such as the available hands-free liftgate.
