Daimler had announced before they are going to kill off the Maybach to stop losing money on it, so we were expecting like a special edition or something as a proper send-off for this ultra-lux, ultra-expensive car. But turns out Daimler was so fed up with they decided to simply drop it and not bother even with a simple statement commemorating the Maybach. In the new pricelist for 2013 the Maybach is marked as ‘discontinued.’

That’s kinda sad. Granted, the Maybach was never as good as the Rolls Royce Phantom and it always felt like a big and extra posh S-Class, but you cannot ignore the level of luxury and exclusivity it offered. Unfortunately for Maybach, its customer base didn’t exactly help its image either. While most of the cool celebrities bought the Phantom, Maybach became very popular among the likes of Rick Ross, and Arab royalties.

The Maybach became so uncool, it seems, that some owner decided to just abandon them and leave them to rot. We’re not joking, check out this video:
