At this year’s Australian Motor Show in October Lexus will unveil a new version of the hugely popular LF-LC concept, first shown at 2012 Detroit show. The Japanese car maker has sort of confirmed they are going to make the LC, but don’t expect the Australian concept to be the production model. Judging by the teaser picture they’ve released, the car still looks very conceptual.
It’s got an engine though – at least if people who run Lexus Australia are telling the truth – and it’s a hybrid. The car is said to feature a 470-hp hybrid powertrain and all-wheel-drive. So it’s one step closer to production than the LF-LC of Detroit. But since the car is slated, reportedly, for a 2014 launch, Lexus has plenty of time to make changes. We’ve been hearing the LC will spawn a new generation of the SC-class. The new concept might be able to confirm that.
