Jaguar wanted to keep the new F-Type sports car a secret until its official debut at the Paris Motor Show, and they did a good job protecting the looks in the car’s public outings. But now a camouflage-free picture of the Jaguar F-Type surfaces on the web which breaks the embargo. So this is Jaguar’s excellent new sports car — the spiritual successor to the E-Type.
As expected, the F-Type looks pretty much identical to the Jaguar C-X16 concept first shown back in 2011 – only it’s a convertible, obviously. That might be a downer because you were expecting to see something totally new, but now you are presented with a car that you had seen before. But that doesn’t matter. We are actually glad it looks like the C-X16, because it looks utterly magnificent.
The F-Type will come with either a supercharged V6, or a supercharged V8. The V8 model will make you think twice about buying an Aston Martin Vantage. Stay tuned for official pictures and details of the F-Type.
