Jay Leno released a new video from his 2012 Pebble Beach Concours diaries collection, this time about McLaren. Jay is joined by McLaren designer Frank Stephenson who gives him a tour of the new McLaren 12C Spider, the drop-top version of the British supercar. But that’s not all. Jay also gets to see the MP4-12C Can-Am Edition.

The 12C Spider is of course a road going car, and even though it’s plenty fast, it’s not a good showcase of the 12C’s full potential. That’s where the Can-Am comes in. This lightened, focused, more powerful version of the MP4 dressed in full racing overalls is not going to compete in any races. It’s a tribute car to the McLaren MP4-12C GT3. It’s basically a track toy.
