Ferrari Racing Days at Silverstone finally managed to accomplish its ambitious goal of organizing the largest Ferrari parade ever. Sadly they couldn’t reach the 1000-car target they had set themselves, but with 964 Ferrari cars on the track, they set a new Guinness World Record, smashing the previous record of 490 cars set back in 2008 at Japan’s Fuji Speedway Circuit.

The highlight of this large parade was the presence of Ferrari’s Formula 1 driver Flipe Massa, who led the parade in their celebratory lap in a Ferrari 458 Spider. Massa is only days away from leaving Ferrari, so this can be considered as his send-off.

The Silverstone parade was not just held for the sake of a record. There was a good cause behind all this, as Ferrari donated £5 for every car in the parade to BEN, a British charity that supports employees from the motor industry and their family. At the end of the event they wrote a check for £4820.

“It was a really unforgettable experience,” commented Massa, against a backdrop of the 800 cars. It’s a great honour for me to be here for such a special event, with so many cars all brought together on one race track, which produced an unprecedented spectacle for all Prancing Horse fans.”
