For this year’s SEMA show Toyota came up with the Celebrity Dream Build Challenge, in which they hired four famous America racing drivers to design and build their project cars for them. They will then ask fans to vote for the winner. This is NASCAR’s Kyle Busch track-inspired Toyota Camry.
Kyle has done a great job, because let’s be honest the Camry is not an easy car to make exciting. Built by Detroit Speed & Engineering (DSE), Kyle’s Camry features a custom wide body kit with front and rear belly pans, DSE-designed and fabricated front air splitter and rear air diffuser, and a custom dual exhaust system.
They’ve painted the car in official Rowdy colors of black, red, and white inside and out. The interior also benefits from black and red leather Lexus IS F bucket seats.
“Our approach to the build [was] to make a car with the stance, attitude and handling of a road-race car while retaining the functionality of a production Camry,” Busch said. “This looks like something we should run at Daytona and Talladega.”
