Yes, we did have to mention all that, otherwise nobody would watch it. Let’s face it, we feature too many Porsche 918 stuff. It’s an exciting car, yes, but it’s getting kinda old looking at its prototypes. This one’s different though. This one is all about the car’s attempt at setting a blistering Nurburgring lap time: 7 minutes 14 seconds. And of course it features Porsche’s ace test driver, Walther Rohrl. Gotta see this!

Walter has driven some pretty fast stuff in his time, so it’s fair to say he’s not easily impressed. The 800-hp 918 manages to bring a smile to his face though, and it’s a rather big one. He also admires the car’s cornering capabilities. He says it defies the laws of physics. It’s amazing that a car with this level of performance can do 70 mpg. Porsche can make some awesome machinery.
