So yesterday Lamborghini revealed the 2013 Aventador Roadster with a new roof system that is much easier to install and remove than the car’s predecessor, the Murcielago Roadster. Now a video from the car’s private unveiling event in America has emerged to show us how it’s done. It’s better than the Murci, but to be honest it is still a bit of a faff.
Lamborghini could have made the roof in one piece but then it wouldn’t fit in the car’s boot. This two piece affair is kinda clever, but someday someone might fancy to drive around with only one of the pieces in place, and that will ruin the car’s image for good!
The Roadster also comes with a new engine cover that looks much cooler and gives a better view of the V12 engine. Speaking of the engine, it is identical to the one in the coupe, and has the same gearbox and chassis setting. The performance is, give or take, the same as well. 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds and top speed of 350 km/h. What has changed is the price. The Roadster costs 300,000 euro.
