Celebrating the launch of the new 911 Carrera 4 in the UK, Porsche is going to releases a number of highly exquisite promotional videos. This is the first one, titled ‘Two impressive red lines,’ boasting Carrera 4’s distinguishing visual feature, which is indeed that iconic red LED strip that connects the tail lights. That, and the C4’s wider rear section, give the car a slightly bolder presence than the normal Carrera models.
UK is one of the best markets for Porsche 911 Carrera 4, because of its always rainy weather. The Brits would appreciate that extra grip and security of Porsche’s 4×4 system when it’s lashing rain. What’s more, compared to the two-wheel drive 911 Carrera models, the wheel housings at the rear are each 22 mm wider, and each of the rear tyres is 10 mm wider. This increases the track width of the 911 Carrera 4 by 42 mm, and the track width of the S-model by 36 mm. That means the car has more contact with the ground, and that means more grip.
I never noticed that all Porsche's had the red LED light connecting the headlights. By pointing this out to people, this commercial gets people interested because they learned something new.
