Designer David Cardoso obviously was not happy with the way McLaren’s new P1 hyper car looks like, and decided he can do better than Frank Stephenson and his team. So he penned his own McLaren hyper car and called it the MC-1.
As a design study he’s done a solid job, but is it really better looking than the P1? The MC-1 takes more cues from the 12C, but maintains the profile of the P1, because that’s probably what a hyper car looks like. The MC gets different headlight that don’t look as amused as the P1’s – which look like a happy Japanese cartoon dog – and it’s more straight forward than McLaren’s own effort, which has many curves and twists in its body.The rear-end looks too much like the MP4 in our opinion, but the side profile is spot on.
The MC-1 may not be as good a job as the P1, but it’s a pretty good work nonetheless. Now all David needs to do is raise fund to make it, because McLaren is going to stick to their own design!
