Qoros, the new Chinese car maker that wants to take on European car makers with high quality products, is working on a new crossover called the HQ3. A leaked video from Qoros design center shows a clay model of the car being prepared. Like the Qoros Sedan, the job of developing this car has been given to the famed European contractor Magna Steyr.

Judging by this sketch of the concept car and the size of the clay model, the HQ3 is probably a crossover in the same size as the Range Rover Evoque. The baby Rangie is a trendsetter; one of those cars that pretty soon all mainstream car makers will try to copy. Now, copying is something that the Chinese are brilliant at. But since Qoros wants to be different than other Chinese car makers, they will do their best to make the car look as different as possible to the British model.
The HQ3 is expected to be 4.6 meters long, and powered by a Chery-sourced 1.6 liter four-cylinder GDI engine. Qoros is gearing up for a big debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, where they will present their first production sedan, plus a couple of concept. We will probably see the finished version of the HQ3 at the Geneva show.
