Interviews with Formula 1 drivers are generally boring – well, unless it’s Kimi Raikkonen – because all they have to talk about is business and politics and… G force. Now, Santander Bank, a major Ferrari sponsor, organized the “Journalist for a day” competition for children of the media representatives who were at the Ciudad Financera di Boadilla del Monte, in which the winner got to interview Fernando Alonso.
And the result is one of the best F1 interviews we’ve ever seen! Alex, the interviewer, asks Alonso not about the setup of his car or the condition of the track — but what is his favorite video game, or which teacher scolded at him most in school. It is hilarious. You know, Fernando is actually a cool guy; his track-side character, that is just for work.
