It is officially official now: Top Gear returns to telly for its 19th season on Sunday 27 January on BBC Two and BBC HD. It is not clear yet how many episodes they’ve planned for this series, but one thing’s for sure, each episode is chock-full of awesome stuff.
Top Gear has been away for a while, and in that time many many things have happened in the auto industry, and many new models have been launched.
[Spoiler Alert] Here’s details of the first episode. Stop reading right now if you don’t want to know about it:
The first episode of Season 19 sees Jeremy facing a classic Top Gear challenge. He attempts to build a car even smaller than Peel P50. He has to test it on the streets of London and go to the Dragon’s Den with it, so it must be commercially viable!
James is off to test a fast car that suit him very well – the Bentley Continental GT Speed – in a manner that doesn’t – driving it on a British Rally stage. The cherry for the top of episode one is Richard Hammond’s review of Pagani Huayra, followed by a lap of the track in the hands of the Stig.
The star in the reasonably priced car is British actor Damian Lewis. Check out Top Gear Transmission Blog to watch the first TG19 teaser trailer.
