Toyota and its racing partner Gazoo Racing have come up with a couple of fine concept cars to show at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon, which is like Tokyo Motor Show, but specializes in custom and sports cars. We looked at their amazing GT86 and the Yaris Turbo, not let’s see what they have in mind for the Prius.
Aqua G Sports is a concept car based on the Prius hatchback. The car’s 100 hp powertrain remains intact in this treatment, as it is a try to give the little hybrid car a more exciting look inside and out.
So the Aqua G gets a massive front chrome grille and unique LED lights, as well as a pair of side skirts, and a diffuser style rear bumper. In an effort to improve the car’s handling, Gazoo has fitted it with sport-tuned suspension that lowers the ride height, and also a set of 17-inch wheels with 195/45 R17 tires.
That is one nice looking Prius. Wonder if there’d be a market for this in the states?
