Mitsubishi continues developing new electric cars, in hope to someday become the world EV leader. At the upcoming Geneva Motor Show the Japanese brand will unveil two electric concepts showcasing the latest developments. We have the GR-HEV which is a 4WD pickup truck, and CA-MiEV, a new version of the i-MiEV.
The GR-HEV is the more interesting of the two. It uses a sophisticated hybrid system in a tough, versatile body. The powertrain consists of a Clean Diesel engine and electric motor, and is backed by Mitsu’s Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC). The goal here was to make an affordable but green pickup truck. The CO2 target for this vehicle is below 149 g/km.
As for the CA-MiEV, judging by the teaser picture it seems to address the i-MiEV’s biggest flaw, which is the way it looks. Mitsubishi says this car is the next generation compact EV; it is lighter, more aerodynamic, and offers a much better range of 300 km.
