Porsche 911 to be ‘Central Feature’ at Goodwood FoS

Porsche 911, as you know, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and for the Company has planned many special displays, vintage rallies, motorsport events, and even a special book. One of the greatest displays of Porsche 911 is going to be at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the car will be the  ‘Central Feature’.

Besides the bespoke 911-inspired sculpture, to be displayed outside Goodwood House, Porsche Museum in collaboration with private collectors and enthusiasts is going to bring along a number of significant editions of the 911 mainly consisting of legendary competition cars, including the 356, 908, 917 and 962. Examples of each of the 911’s seven generations will also be present at the Festival.

Meanwhile the 1967 Porsche 911 ambassador car that is sent on a world tour to mark the car’s anniversary is coordinated to visit Goodwood during the festival. Pebble Beach, California, China, France, and Australia are among other places this classic 911 will go to later in the year.
