The first official pictures of the new generation Porsche 911 GT3 Type 991 surface on the web ahead of the car’s debut at the Geneva Motor Show. It uses the same old recipe. The body is more aerodynamic; it is lighter; and it is more powerful. And it is utterly magnificent.
Large front air intakes, front splitter, side skirts, fixed rear wing, a rear diffuser and a twin tailpipe in the middle are among the main exterior highlights, while inside the car Porsche uses more suede to save a couple of kilos. It is by no means a stripped-out interior, as you get all of the luxury amenities you want.
Engine-wise, the flat-six engine from the Carrera S gets a boost up to 450 horsepower. It is by default coupled to a PDK 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is not clear yet if Porsche is going to offer the new GT3 with a manual as well.
Official details are expected to be released soon.
