Celebrating its 45th year in business, Italdesign Giugiaro turned up at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with an interesting concept car called the Parcour. It is a sporty coupe/crossover model, and comes as both coupe and roadster. It has a similar profile to the American Rally Fighter, but it’s more elegant and sophisticated.
Size-wise, both coupe and roadster measure 4,530mm long, 2,070mm wide and 1,335mm tall, and weight bout 1,550 kg. This fairly light weight combined with the power of a Lamborghini V10 engine result in a pretty vivid performance. This car could really do Parkour!
The engine comes straight from a Gallardo and boasts 525 horsepower. It powers all four 22-inch wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of nearly 320 km/h or 200 mph.
“Parkour was devised as a new way of living and experiencing a metropolitan route creatively”, states Fabrizio Giugiaro, “Parkour enthusiasts, who are referred to as traceurs or plotters, adapt their body to the surrounding environment pursuing, through their movements, not just spectacle but instead mainly maximum efficiency. The purpose of parkour is to move around as efficiently as possible. By efficiently I mean: simply, quickly and safely, which are characteristic features of our car.”
