Following yesterday’s announcement by Hennessey that their Ford “Camo GT” broke it’s previous standing mile record speed of 263.3 mph by doing a mind-boggling 267.6 mph (~430 km/h), they’ve released a video of the run to prove it.

The Camo GT not only shattered the record for this year’s Texas Mile challenge, it is now breathing down the Veyron SuperSport’s neck; only 0.2 mph more than it would have the mighty Bugga.

Powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine from Accufab Racing, the Camo GT makes something in the neighborhood of 2000 horsepower. On the proof of this record, it also puts it down rather well. The thing is, this Ford will probably expire in a cloud of smoke is you do that top speed run 3 or 4 times, but cars like the Bugatti can do it all day long. Still, it is a pretty impressive achievement by Hennessey and their team.
