Hennessey Ford GT Claims 267.6 mph Standing-Mile Record

Hennessey Ford GT 545x334 at Hennessey Ford GT Claims 267.6 mph Standing Mile Record

The 257.7 mph Hennessey Ford GT is back in a new livery, claiming a new top speed record at the 2013 Texas Standing Mile challenge. The car has reportedly clocked a Veyron-busting 267.6 mph. Not sure what they are doing to it, but this car is getting faster and faster each year!

Granted, it is still 0.2 mph behind the Veyron SuperSport’s 267.81 mph record, but for a car with an engine from a pickup truck, that is astonishing. Mind you, when Hennessy and Accufab Racing are done with this engine not much of it remains stock, but still, that is some accomplishment.

They are currently editing the video of the run which will serve as the proof for the record. Stay tuned.
