Hyundai revealed the first shots of their new concept car called the HND-9, set for debut at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show. It is an evolution of the HCD-14 Sedan revealed at Detroit earlier this year to preview the Genesis sedan, and it takes no genius to tell it will the base for the next generation Genesis Coupe due in 2015.

Sure, it does looks a too conceptual for a production Korean car, but it will mature over the next few years as it makes the transition to reality. More interesting than the way HND-9 looks is what it has under the bonnet.

The car is powered by a 3.3 liter turbocharged V6 engine, which will replace the current 3.8 liter naturally-aspirated unit. It is good for 370 horsepower which is only about 20hp more than what the 3.8 liter makes, but it will be much more fuel efficient; especially as it comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The concept car also features some ‘cutting-edge technologies’ which will be revealed when it goes on display in Seoul.
