Porsche Panamera Spyshots March 08 545x306 at Porsche Panamera Facelift Caught Almost Undisguised

We were tracking the evolution of the Porsche Panamera through a series of spyshots, hoping to see something a bit better looking than the old model. The Panamera is an utterly brilliant car to drive and to live with, but it is hideously ugly. Sadly, the new model doesn’t appear to be much better.

Sure, the car gets new bumpers, revised head and taillights, and some new LEDs, but it still looks like a hunchbacked dinosaur. Porsche is adamant to keep the Panamera a Gran Turismo with a large hatch rather than turning it into a sedan. It is more practical this way, and if we’re honest, it is still selling like hot cakes. People don’t seem to mind the way the Panamera looks, so Porsche designer – famous to be some of the laziest in business – had no good reason to change it substantially.

Looks aside, the new Panamera will benefit from a range of new technologies, including a more advanced hybrid system in its greenest variant. The engine lineup will continue with V6 petrol and diesel, V8 and V8 Turbo, and in due course, Turbo S and hybrid.
