The new Spyker B6 sports car debuts at the Geneva Motor Show as the Venator concept. The car previews a production model set for launch next year, and although it is supposed to a Porsche-rivaling sports car, the ingredients they’ve used suggest it’s a full on super car.

The Venator, which is Latin for Hunter, features a full carbon fiber body on top of an aluminum frame. So it is very light and rigid, and also expensive to build, which means it is going to be much more expensive than, say, a Porsche Cayman.

Transversely-mounted in the middle of the chassis is a V6 engine developing 370 horsepower, all of which sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission. Spyker has not yet revealed the performance numbers for the Venator, but given its dry weight of 1,400 kg, it should be pretty quick.

The design of the Venator is classic Spyker, featuring the signature front grille, LED lights, brake light has been sculpted into the rear panel design, 19” Turbofan wheels, and the aircraft-like canopy extends rearwards to minimize drag. It is fantastic.

As great as the exterior is, the interior is even better. Again, we have typical Spyker features here with a turned aluminium fascia similar to the Spyker of the olden days, aircraft-inspired switches, and the finest leather known to man. The absolute best part of it is the exposed gear change mechanism. It is just wonderful to look at.

The production Spyker Venator is expected to cost something in the neighborhood of $150K.
