After the standard 2013 SRT Viper lost the to the old Corvette ZR1 in the battle of Laguna Seca, SRT’s top brass ordered the engineers to go back to their workshops and create a track-focused version. The Viper Time Attack is the result of that, and even though it doesn’t have any more power than the standard car, thanks to lighter weight and optimized aerodynamics, it is significant faster.
In this video SRT principals explain why they made the TA and what’s new about it. The aero enhancements include the addition of a carbon fiber rear spoiler and a two-piece front splitter that combination added nearly 280 pounds of downforce.
