As predicted from the numerous spyshots we had on the new Porsche Panamera, the 2014 model only features slight visual changes over the outgoing car. That is clear in the first official pictures of the car, leaked ahead of its debut.
The 2014 Panamera gets a new front fascia with a sportier, sort of, bumper and LED lights, as well as lightly modified headlights. Around at the back you get a revised tailgate, and new graphics for the taillights. The pop-up spoiler is also redesigned. That’s about it. The Panamera is still very dubious looking.
The car launches with a new hybrid version, called Panamera S E-Hybrid, with astonishing performance and economy numbers. Consisting of a 3.0 liter V6, an electric motor, and a lithium-ion battery pack, the system ash a total output of over 400 horsepower. It does 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 second and can reach a top speed of nearly 270 km/h. It is said to be capable of delivering up to 91 UK mpg – something like 3.0 liter/100 km – and also up to 20 miles of pure electric drive.
The Panamera S has reportedly lost its V8 engine and gained a twin-turbo V6, but the good news is it is still fairly powerful with an output of 430bhp and 385lb ft. Official details are expected to be released soon.
