Cadillac is yet to green light a coupe and a wagon variant of the new generation CTS, unveiled in New York a few days ago. Normally, they would have been planned in advance, but they are probably waiting for the sedan to get its feet grounded before expanding the lineup.
The current Caddy CTS has a rich lineup with very successful coupe and wagon versions, as well as the high-performance V models. Things are a bit different with the new model, as it comes with a brand-new twin-turbo V6 engine that renders the current V-Series V8 model totally pointless.
Design-wise, the new CTS is miles better than the car it replaces. It gets a distinct character maintaining Cadillac’s traditional cues, while looking fresh and modern. Styling alone is enough reason for Cadillac to go ahead and make a coupe version of the CTS. Potentially, it can look pretty awesome.
Cadillac is taking its time over the new CTS and its different variants because they want to present a proper German-busting car this time. So it may take a while till we see a CTS coupe, but it will probably be worth the wait.
