Finally, Jaguar is ready to let other people than their engineers drive the long-awaited F-Type sports car. It’s about time, as come Thursday morning the car will hit the showrooms across the UK. Not that a review can change your heart about buying this gorgeous drop-top, but it could at least help you decide which version you should get. Yes, it’s the full-fat V8S, obvsiouly!
So over to Autocar’s Steve Sutcliffe:
As the spiritual successor to the E-Type, Jaguar F-Type features a lightweight aluminum construction, a driver-focused cockpit, an amazing design, and three engines, including two V6s and and one V8. Prices for the Jaguar F-TYPE start at £58,520 for the 340 PS V6 model. The 380hp V6S starts from £67,520 while the 495hp Jaguar F-TYPE V8S is priced at £79,985.
The car’s showroom launch will be celebrated with a ceremonial handover event scheduled for this Thursday, April 18th, 2013. The Ricoh Arena, a landmark in Jaguar’s historic home town of Coventry, will host the event which will see fifty-nine Jaguar dealers from all over the UK collect the keys to their F-TYPE demonstrators before setting off in spectacular convoy along the A444.
