Following its debut at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, Ferrari’s amazing new LaFerrari hyper car is now going around the world introducing itself to people. After making its Chinese debut at the Auto Shanghai, the car makes its first public appearance in France.
The LF, or the queen of cars as Ferrari refers to it, has been unveiled by Enrico Galliera, Ferrari’s Commercial and Marketing Director at the opening day of the magnificent Tour Auto Optic 2000. 200 journalists attended the unveiling ceremony. The Auto Optic also includes 250 other great cars, including many classic Ferraris.
LaFerrari’s French trip also includes a gala cocktail evening in which over 400 potential customers will get to view the car in person and get to know the first hybrid car from Maranello. The LF is limited to just 499 units, many of which already sold.
Powered by a V12 KERS Hybrid system, the LF boasts 960 horsepower and has a top speed of 350 km/h. It does o to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds and is the fastest production car from 0 to 300 km/h. With a starting price of nearly $1.5 million though, it will probably spend all its life in an air conditioned garage and never see any serious action, which frankly makes all that technology and engineering seem pointless.
