Even though the Need for Speed video game series always had a great potential to become a Hollywood blockbuster, it took the producers over a decade to get around making it. But it’s finally happening, and by the looks of things, it is going to be sick.

These spyshots from the set of NFS movie show cars like McLaren P1, Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, and Koenigsegg Agera R starring in it. That’s like 3,300 horsepower, and around 5 million dollar worth of cars in just one scene.

The presence of P1 is particularly interesting, as this new hyper car has just come out of the oven and already it’s becoming a movie star. With those spaceship looks and outworldly performance, it’s certainly got what it takes to be one.

As is the case with movies derived from video games, the plot will probably suck. Mind you, they have good writers, George and John Gatins, and Scott Waugh is directing. So if Act of Valor is any indication, we’re going to see lots of action.
