American tuner Misha Designs released details of their styling kit for the Porsche 997. Looking similar to the standard 997 Turbo model, the GTM2 package can be fitted to both 997 wide body and narrow body versions of the 911, and gives the old gal a fresh new look.
The GTM2 package includes front bumper, hood, side skirts, rear bumper with diffuser and a choice of 3 different rear spoilers including the brand new Duck tail wing. Mercifully, it’s not a wide body thing, so it’s not that showy at all. Only people who know their Porsches will realize it’s a body kit.
What’s more, the front lip, rear diffuser and the wing blade can be had in clear carbon fiber, adding more drama to the way the car looks.
This makes perfect sense. You don’t need to pay a 100 grand for a new 991. Prices are plummeting on the 997s, so get yourself a clean one of these, add this kit to it, and enjoy the performance. Porsche’s are pretty much bulletproof, so you don’t have to worry about reliability either. Oh, and the 997 has a proper hydraulic steering system, not an electronic one like the 991.
