Porsche 991 RSR Development Story – Video

Porsche 991 RSR Development 600x336 at Porsche 991 RSR Development Story Video

Even though the new 991 RSR race car didn’t make podium in its inaugural race at Silversonte last week, Porsche is still very, very, proud of what they have accomplished with this car. And watching this video, it becomes clear why. The engineers in the motorsport department have worked as hard as they did developing the first 991 road car. They engineered their way around the rear-engined car’s problems and created a masterpiece.

They believe that once the car get its feet grounded, there will be no stopping it:

Boasting a 460 hp, 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, and a new lightweight construction as well as a six-speed racing sequential gearbox operated via steering column-mounted paddle shifters, the physically larger 991 RSR is, at least on paper, a much quicker car than its predecessor. The car will compete at this year’s Endurance Championship and Le Mans.
