If it weren’t for big corporate sponsors spending millions of dollars each year, Formula 1 probably wouldn’t exist. And while that makes the F1 less of a sport and more of business, it also results in some extravagant, over the top stunts you don’t see anywhere else.
Take this for example. F1 cars are usually delivered to wherever it is they have to be delivered in trucks. But when they had to deliver Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari to Barcelona, his main sponsor Santander Bank decided to make an event out of it by airlifting the car into the city.
Why? Because they have a crapload of money, why the hell not!
